Carolyn Goings: Sheriff just gave burglars a big thumbs-up
Re “County alarm policies different than new Merced ones” (Page 3A, Aug. 8): Gee, thanks for assuring every burglar and house-breaker that householder electronic alarms can be ignored because Merced County deputies will not respond. Also, what is the purpose of the “alarm permits”? Looks like a ‘just because I can make you do it’ useless paper production.
