Kent Amberson: The electrician was a woman, and she was great

I recently had an electrical problem in my house that destroyed two receptacles, three light switches and one each of a light and heat bulb that shut down the bathroom fan. I called for a “handyman” who gave up half way into the job. He called a friend who tried to avoid the question of having a license. He clarified his opinion by reacting: “Who gives a (deleted)! As far as the price goes, this could cost a thousand bucks. You have two minutes to make up your mind about this job.”

This is where Atwater Electric comes in. Lisa – yes, a woman electrician – knew exactly what to do. Her estimate was perfect, the job was done and I got a lesson in where I screwed up to cause the problem.

Kent Amberson, Atwater
