Gary Brice: Don’t let Atwater’s good-old-boy continue to rule the city

I encourage each citizen of Atwater to look at the minutes of the city council meetings and be informed of what the council thinks is important for our city. If you have a vested interest in certain issues, you should not vote on passage of a project.

It’s time for the voices of the citizens of Atwater to be heard. Check the background of those running in the next election, their jobs and who they are related to. The good-old-boys network wrecked this town, don’t forget that fact.

If you don’t vote, shame on you. We can have a city we are proud of only if you, as a voter, do your homework. We have a core of dedicated city employees who need leadership. These folks have been doubled up on work to save the city money. Don’t forget the employees who never gave up on our city. Let’s elect city council members who put the city and its employees ahead of personal gain. The scratch-my-back and I’ll scratch yours ethic does not work anymore. There are two seats to be filled; choose the best. We may be a small town, but we know the best path for our city.
