Tom Reta: Murphy will at least consider quietening Merced’s train horns

In July, I sent identical emails to Merced city councilmen Mike Murphy and Josh Pedrozo. The subject: If you are elected Merced mayor, what would you intend doing to stop the incessant train horn blowing in the city of Merced? Murphy responded, Pedrozo did not.

I subsequently had a very informative phone conversation with Councilman Murphy, who said he had approached at one time other councilmembers, but they were not interested. He is willing to pursue the subject.

Before any investor, developer or real estate firm plans any hotel/motel, nice restaurant or conference center in Merced, they should spend at least two days and nights in or near downtown. The two railroads horns blastings 24/7 should convince them to go elsewhere.

My vote in November is for Mike Murphy for Merced Mayor

Tom Reta, Merced
