Linda Romero Soles named Merced Superior Court's executive officer
Merced County Superior Court Presiding Judge Brian McCabe announced the appointment of Linda Romero Soles as the Court's Executive Officer effective April 4.
Soles has more than 31 years of experience in the judicial system. She comes to the court from the Stanislaus Superior Court where she was employed for 20 years in a variety of positions, including Assistant Executive Officer, Chief Deputy Executive Officer, and Assistant Clerk/Administrator, according to a court news release.
Before her employment with the Stanislaus Superior Court, she worked for the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Los Angeles, for a combined 10 years, most notably as the Director of Administrative Services.
She received a graduate degree in Public Administration with a Certificate in Judicial Administration from the University of Southern California. She is also a graduate of the Institute for Court Managements Court Executive Development Program and is a certified Fellow. She is serving as a member of the Joint Technology Committee for the National Center for State Courts.
A court executive officer is the highest nonjudicial officer in the county's court system, overseeing its day-to-day operations, including personnel, maintenance, management of programs and implementation of any policy set by the judges.
Soles follows in the footsteps of Kathleen Goetsch, who was the court's executive officer for six years. She will receive an annual salary of $152,000 plus benefits.
