Merced’s Jesus Haro continued his successful youth boxing career.

Haro, 14, won the 2017 National Silver Gloves 14-15 year old, 80-pound division in Independence, Mo., earlier this month. Haro, who is a freshman at Golden Valley High, defeated Bleek Ashbrook of Las Vegas in the finals.

The win was his 10th national title of his career, including the fourth over the past year.

Haro won the 13-14, 70-pound division at the Junior Olympics in Dallas last summer.
