Obituary – The California USBC Association is saddened to announce that its one-time manager and Hall of Fame member, Pete Melton of Fresno, died due to complication from a stroke. He was the driving force for the Cal-State Seniors tournament held in Fresno and Clovis in years past. Pete’s wife, Dortha, was the long-time manager of AMF Rodeo Lanes in Clovis in the 1990s. After they retired, they moved to Artesia, N.M. He knew that I was from the Merced area, and every time I bowled the Senior State at Rodeo he would look me up and ask about Marty Daniel, who bowled in a league at Rodeo with Melton. A good guy.
PBA league TV dates – The quarterfinals of the PBA league play are set to begin March 29 at 2 p.m. on ESPN and continue April 5 at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN. The semifinals are April 12 at 11 a.m. on ESPN, and the finals are April 19 at 10 a.m. on ESPN.
