Riverbank’s Carol Riggs Captures TOC
A first place payout of $1,000 was up for grabs last Saturday at Yosemite Lanes in Modesto as the Central Valley Senior Bowling Club held their Annual Tournament of Champions finals.
A total of 76 members, who had rolled in four tournaments to qualify for the TOC, were competing. Dwayne Hunter from Modesto was the number one seed with a 994, followed by Salida's Pedro Flores who had the second seed with a 992, and in the third seed was Carol Riggs of Riverbank with a 969.
In the step-ladder roll-off Flores rolled a 175 with Riggs rolling a 211. In the Championship match had Riggs shooting a 242 to Hunter's 227. Riggs took home a check for $1,000 and a championship plaque, Hunter $850, and Flores $700. Our local entry was Larry Valenti with a check for $160 in 14th. Bellevue Bowl has been selected to host the 2018 TOC on January 19, 2019.

A good day at Yosemite Lanes
It was a great day for our local Bellevue Bowl seniors as Janie Schropp, Bob Heller, Bob Simons, Jerry McMillian, T.J. Rowen, and Greg Bennett all made money in the high game pots during the day.
In the total series had Rowen and Simons placing. Coming in for a tie in the men's overall high series were McMillian and Bennett both rolling an 882 for second place in the men's series. A 277 game helped Bennett move into second, and a 266 game from McMillian shot him up for the tie.
Up next will be McHenry Bowl's senior no-tap this Friday at 1 p.m. with a regular 9-pin, and don't forget the pot-luck lunch.
Scratch No-Tap League
Senior Leo Gonzales was visiting his son in Manteca at the Manteca Bowl and was surprised by a league he was watching during the day. He kept hearing 300, 255, and 260 called out during the afternoon. He found out that it was a scratch 9-pin no-tap league with over 24 three member team's rolling. Sounds interesting and neat for maybe a senior league at Bellevue, who knows.
