Golden Valley celebrating Hunter’s 400 wins before Turlock game on Friday

Golden Valley High School will be holding a short ceremony to honor Cougars boys basketball coach Keith Hunter topping the 400-win mark this season.

The ceremony will take place in between the junior varsity and varsity games against Turlock on Friday night at Cougar Arena. Former Golden Valley players will be present. Former players are asked to arrive at the game between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m.

Hunter has compiled a 411-236 record during his 23-year tenure at Golden Valley. He’s led the Cougars to six Central California Conference championships.

Merced-Golden Valley alumni game

There will be a Merced-Golden Valley boys basketball alumni game on this Saturday at Merced High in the new gymnasium. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
