Merced USBC members invited to roll in Modesto’s BVL tournament

The Modesto USBC has invited all Merced USBC members to roll in their annual BVL Friendship Doubles Fundraiser at Yosemite Lanes on Friday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m and on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m.

It is an annual fund raiser for the Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL). The teams will consist of two bowlers of any combination of men or women. You will be bowling three games of no-tap. First two games will be 8-pin no-tap and the last game will be a 9-pin no-tap. Bowlers may bowl more than once, but cannot place with the same person in the prize fund.

You will be using your 2017 USBC book average, if none, then use your summer 2017. Entry fee is $20 per bowlers. Side pots are $3 with separate divisions for men and women. All USBC rules and regulations shall govern this tournament. Tourney payouts will be issued within 30 days. Entry forms are available at Bellevue Bowl. Bellevue no-tapper this tournament is for you. This mini-tourney is open to all USBC members.

500 Club Championship results

Finals result are in from the recent 500 Club Championships held at Bellevue Bowl on January 14. In first place was Julie Egleston with a total of 715 ($129), following in second was Kim Deathriage with a 651 ($101), and coming in third was Kim Barcellos with a 649 ($77).

A total of 16 club members hit the lanes, it was a sparse turnout from their normal crowd for the club. Egleston will have her name engraved on the Club's Champions plaque. Barcellos name will go on the Club's high game perpetual trophy. Both will be displayed in the trophy case at Bellevue Bowl.

No-Tappers at McHenry

The house was packed with senior no-tappers last Friday in Modesto for their monthly mini no-tap tournament. It is the first time ever in a very long time that most of our Bellevue bowlers got shut-out except one, Janie Schropp who in game two had a second place finish with a 283, in game three she finished in third with a 264, and in the overall women's series she had a 782 for fifth place.

Up next for seniors will be up at Black Oak Lanes this Friday at 1:30 p.m. Entry fee in only $15 for three games of 9-pin no-tap and you have to pre-pay in order to bowl. Contact Jeff Hurley, tournament director at 209-928-9437 to give him your bowling information needed to roll.

Silver Foxes at Bellevue

The Silver foxes Bowling Club from the Fresno/Clovis area of the Valley will not be coming to Bellevue Bowl as scheduled. There was a mix up with one of their directors mailed contracts to the wrong centers.

Erreca rolls his first 800 series

Dan Erreca of Los Banos rolled his first ever 800 series at Yosemite Lanes last Sunday night in their mixed league. He has come close over his career, with a bunch of 790s he told me. This time everything was clicking as he shot a 278, came back with a 300, and a final game of 238 for a 816 with 29 strikes.
