This Sunday, Yosemite Lanes will be hosting their second scratch six gamer tournament. Last year they had 26 teams rolling in the dough, they expect to equal or top that this year.
Freddy’s Tree Service will be adding to the prize pool so that one in every three teams will cash. The finals will have a new twist this year. They will cut to the top five teams (based on entries) for a Baker style stepladder finals. The USBC Blue pattern (38 feet) will be on the lanes. Entry fee if $60 per bowler, and optional brackets and side pots will be available. Check in starts at 11 a.m. and first ball rolls at noon.

NEW POLICY AT BLACK OAK LANES
Jeff Hurley, bowling league supervisor at Black Oak Lanes informed me that all senior bowlers in our association who plan on rolling in their senior no-tap on the first Friday of the month will have to call before 2 p.m. on a Wednesday to register and pre-pay.
He said that some locals would show up to bowl after he had lanes assigned that make it tough. This change will become effective starting on September, 7. The lanes will still be offering coffee, cookies, and popcorn and your high game payout for men and women after each game is still intact. If you want to bowl, give Hurley a call at 209-928-9437.
If you don’t cash downstairs, you can always go upstairs and try you luck.

HIGH ROLLERS
Sean Kucius 259, Gregg Bennett 228, Steven Sanchez 232, Heather Ney-Halloran 185, Nevora Nush 181, Joanna Summerton 149, David King 206, Bill Barthel 205, Mike Giordano 246, and Queray McMihelk 183.

AQUA BOWLER LEADS PEACH CLASSIC
Eric Nieman of Los Banos was on fire during his run at the 69th Annual Peach Singles Classic at McHenry Bowl as he was rolling at a 258 clip for a 1,240 with handicap. As of July, 9, Nieman was leading the singles and if his score holds up he would receive a check for $2,500 for a first place finish. The Peach pays $100 down to 100 places. Entry fee is $60 and you roll 5 games across 5 lanes 2-1-2. The Classic will be ending on Saturday, July 29 with a payout of one place for every 8 entries.

BVL LATEST UPDATE
I received a note from Mabel Sheasley, our BVL co-chair for the state and she confirmed that the 2019 BVL Championships will be held in Stockton. The date this year is March, 23, 2019 at the West Lanes Bowl. Mark your calendar for the date. It is in the valley this year which is good for traveling to the championship.

CENTRAL VALLEY SENIORS AT SUTTER CREEK
The Central Valley Senior Bowling club out of Modesto will be rolling their singles event this Saturday at Gold Country Lanes in Sutter Creek starting at 1 p.m. You can join the club the day of the tournament and bowl the afternoon.

FREE BOWLING AT BELLEVUE BOWL
Don’t forget that all Bellevue Bowl bowlers who rolled in the winter or summer leagues can still bowl 2 free games every day from Sunday-Friday before 5 p.m. The free games will end on August 24. Now is the time to check your new ball or just practice for your winter season, or just have fun.
