The word from the Turlock area is that the new Ten Pin Fun Center will not be opening in September as was announced earlier. The new bowling alley may be open by the end of the year.

I have not heard from Mike Buzick, league coordinator for the Ten Pin Fun Center. The last time we spoke he said that they will have a short winter season of 16 weeks starting in January. It looks like the center will be open for bowlers and customers to check out the facility and get some feedback from everyone before they start league play.

A couple of our senior bowlers were shopping in the area and stopped by and asked a few questions from the workers at the site. The word the workers had to say was that equipment was on back order and is slowing down the work. I heard that there are a few changes in management. More on this next week.

Chris Warren, of Grants Pass, Ore., a 5-7 in 5th for $800. You might remember Warren scoring well during the recent Vanessa Brown Homes PBA West Open tournament at Yosemite Lanes.

Saving of Cloverleaf Family Bowl

There is a movement in the city of Fremont to save their bowling center that was opened on March 23, 1963 that could be erased for housing units. The community had a march from the Cloverleaf Family Bowl to the city council that added them to the agenda.

A total of over 150 walked the march to the city hall. The city council meeting was filled with bowlers that packed the room full and parts of other rooms. Beside 30 bowlers who spoke they had friends and businesses from the community that asked to keep Cloverleaf Family Bowl open. I guess the name said it all, Cloverleaf Family bowl. We wish them luck.
