Central Valley seniors club traveling to Brentwood

The Central Valley Senior Bowling Club is holding their monthly senior singles tournament at Harvest Bowl in Brentwood this Saturday staring at 1 p.m.

Check-in begins at 10:45 a.m. and ends at 12:15 p.m. Men and women can join the club, male bowlers age 55 and over and women age 50 and over. Entry fee is $40 per member.

You can roll as a guest for an additional $10 or join the club for $20. They will be rolling four games of qualifying with the top three qualifiers advancing to a stepladder roll off for the championship.

The club travels all over the San Joaquin Valley to different bowling centers every month. They host a tournament of champions at the end of the season and this year it will be held at Yosemite Lanes in Modesto on January 19, 2019.

A member must have won an event during the season and rolled in four tournaments. Up for grabs is $1,000 in first place money.

BELLEVUE SETS LEAGUE MEETINGS AND START UPS

The following are league meetings and the leagues starting date to bowl. Monday Merchants meet at 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 and roll on Sept. 10. Bellevue Tuesday Seniors at 1 p.m on Aug. 28 and roll on Sept. 4. Guys & Dolls meet at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 and roll on Sept 4. Bellevue Bowls Classic meets at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 and rolls on Sept. 5. Twilighters seniors meet at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30 and roll on Sept. 6. Friday Handicap has their meeting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31 and starts their league on Sept. 7.

Leagues will be starting the week after Labor Day. If you have any questions about your league meeting or startup dates contact Bellevue Bowl at (209) 358-6466. The leagues always need men and women bowlers for bowlers who have retired or moved away. The sign-up sheet is up at the bowl about the trophy case. THIS SUNDAY IS THE CURTAIN

The Merced/Atwater Women's 500 Club is hosting their annual Behind the Curtain 9-pin no-tap singles tournament this Sunday, Aug. 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Bellevue Bowl.

The tourney is open to all USBC member and there are divisions for men and women. You will roll three games with the curtain hanging from the ceiling between the bowler and the pins. Sounds like fun. You will use your 2017-2018 composite average and your entry fee is $25. The tourney is limited to the first 80 paid entries. Entry forms are available at the trophy case at Bellevue Bowl.

9-PIN NO-TAPPERS YOSEMITE LANES IS READY.

All you senior men and women, Yosemite Lanes will be hosting their monthly senior no-tap this Friday at 1 p.m Sign-ups start at noon and there is no lunch at Yosemite. Entry fee is $13 and they have six on a pair. Let me know if your going and I can let Kathy Cheek know that we are coming up.
