Aurrion Harris put in a lot of work in preparation for his senior basketball season at Golden Valley High School.

The work paid off as the Cougars won a second straight CCC championship, sharing the title with El Capitan with an 11-1 record.

Harris was rewarded individually with CCC coaches selecting him as the conference Most Valuable Player.

“I was happy when I heard because I know I worked hard,” Harris said. “I knew what I had to do to get the award. I was just excited when I heard.”

Harris did a little bit of everything for the Cougars this season.

The 6-foot-2 senior averaged 14 points, 11.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Harris also spent time playing point guard, forward and center this season for the Cougars.

“I was very satisfied with our season,” Harris said. “We worked hard in practice. We knew our goal was to get past CCC. Once we got past CCC, teams were going to push us harder.”
