The Raiders had a very bad start in Sunday’s game against the Saints, and it only got worse.

One thing after another led to the Raiders’ downfall in a 24-0 loss at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

The Raiders trailed 17-0 at halftime and had just 73 yards of total offense.

Derek Carr threw an interception, albeit off a tipped pass, but it was his first INT in the past four games.

Just how bad was it in the first half?

Raiders coach Josh McDaniels called what seemed like a sure-fire play on third-and-1, handing the ball off to all-star wideout Davante Adams. But needing just that single yard to keep the drive going, Adams instead was stopped for a 1-yard loss.

Disaster then struck.

The Raiders decided to try a punt fake from their 45 and that went nowhere. To add to the misery, the Raiders’ Brandon Bolden was called for a chop block on the play as the ball was turned over on downs. New Orleans parlayed the short field into a four-play, 9-yard drive for a field goal and a 10-0 lead.

Needless to say, Raider Nation wasn’t happy.

Former Raiders star and Hall of Famer Tim Brown also was dismayed as he chimed in on Twitter.

Another former Raiders star and Hall of Famer, Charles Woodson, gave his thoughts.

Raiders fans want McDaniels fired, but it’s doubtful that owner Mark Davis will give in to that wish at this point. But if losses keep piling up, who knows how quickly Davis will act?

The Raiders dropped to 2-5 and will stay in Sarasota, Florida, this week as they prepare for the Jaguars in Jacksonville next Sunday.
