Felipe Lopez’s overtime goal lifted the Merced College men’s soccer team to a 3-2 win over De Anza on Tuesday afternoon in the NorCal Playoffs.

Lopez’s game-winning score came off an assist by Carlos Morales-Portillo in the 106th minute.

The Blue Devils tied the match at 2-2 in the 90th minute on a goal by Jason Valtierra that was assisted by Thomas Knierieme.

The game was scoreless at halftime.

Merced College’s Julian Cabrera started the scoring with a goal in the in the 46th minute with the help of an assist by David Mejia.

The Blue Devils improved to 16-3-3 and will host Clovis on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a berth in the state elite eight on the line.
