Saints Fans React to Drew Brees' First Look at Hall of Fame Gold Jacket
Drew Brees got his first look at his Hall of Fame gold jacket and the moment was everything Saints fans hoped it would be.
Brees was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame back in February as part of the 2026 class alongside Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri and Roger Craig. The New Orleans Saints quarterback headlined the group and became the first player in franchise history to earn first-ballot induction.
It's a distinction that puts him alongside a respected group of Saints legends who reached the same milestone including Morten Andersen, Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills and Willie Roaf.
When the jacket finally arrived, Brees' reaction said it all. The Saints posted a video on X capturing the moment he held it up and took it in for the first time and the joy on his face was hard to miss.
"That's my name," Brees said. "Looks shinier than I imagined. Feels like it's something that gets better with age, too. The older guys get, I feel like, even the more appreciation they have for being a part of this very unique and special club."

Fans are Buzzing Over Drew Brees' Hall of Fame Moment
Saints fans felt every bit of that moment. The comments section filled up quickly with people who clearly weren't ready for how emotional it all hit.
"I'm more emotional watching this than I was watching my son open his first Christmas gift last year," one fan wrote. Another kept it subtly emotional: "Who's cutting onions in here?"
"That's Drew's entire life's work in that HAGGAR box. That's my name. I love how excited he is," one fan commented. While one wrote, "I'm crying like a baby."
Another went straight to the point: "That's the Goat. Gold jacket will be fabulous on him."
" still in the black and gold ." One Saints fan wrote.
It was a real moment from a player who spent his career earning exactly this kind of recognition.
Fitzgerald secured first-ballot honors for his career with the Arizona Cardinals, while Kuechly represented the Carolina Panthers, and Vinatieri brought his legacy from the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts. Craig came through the senior candidate pool representing the San Francisco 49ers.
The official enshrinement ceremony is set for August 8 in Canton. That is when Brees officially takes his place among the greats and for Saints fans, that day cannot come soon enough.
