Can Commanders Land Jayden Daniels an Elite Weapon at No. 7 in NFL Draft?

A little over two months since the Seattle Seahawks downed the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl, the new season of the NFL is officially ready to kick off in full on Thursday night in Pittsburgh for the 2026 NFL Draft.

While the world’s worst-kept secret is that the Las Vegas Raiders will be selecting Heisman Award winner and national champion quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick, the fun begins after the Indiana signal-caller puts on the silver and black for the first time.

As we count down the clock until Thursday, per Kalshi, the prediction website, here are the players who are the frontrunners to go to the Washington Commanders in the first round.

Carnell Tate (25%)

The consensus top wideout in the draft, Washington could be in an amazing position if the Ohio State Buckeye falls to them at the seventh spot.

While it’s no guarantee with the likes of the Giants and Browns in front of them, the selection of reliable receiver Tate would take a lot of pressure off Terry McLaurin’s shoulders.

Sonny Styles (17%)

Another Buckeye, Styles, is one of the draft class’s more interesting players. While almost every pundit sees Styles as a top prospect, there aren’t as many links to the linebacker compared to other players considered top 10 players of the draft.

He’s an elite all-around defender, and if the Commanders get him at the No. 7 spot, it’ll be seen as a win for Washington.

Jeremiyah Love (12%)

Although the Commanders and their fans might love Love, it is getting less likely by the passing second that Washington can grab him unless they trade up for him.

As of now, Love is the favorite to go to either the Arizona Cardinals or Tennessee Titans at the No. 3 or No. 4 spots, respectively.
