Micah Parsons Rips Eagles Fans in Defense of A.J. Brown

You can take Micah Parsons out of the NFC East, but you can’t take NFC East trash talk out of Parsons.

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted USC wide receiver Makai Lemon at No. 20 overall in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday night. The move was widely interpreted as the Eagles’ public confirmation that they do indeed plan to trade wide receiver A.J. Brown after June 1.

On Friday, Parsons posted on X, “It’s amusing how many Eagles fans believe A.J. Brown is the problem!”

Brown has publicly expressed frustration with his role in the Eagles’ offense over the past two seasons. The consensus among NFL insiders and reporters is that Brown will most likely be traded to the New England Patriots.

Parsons did not elaborate, so we’re left to fill in the blanks and may or may not correct in what prompted Parsons’ post, but there has been plenty of smoke around Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

On April 1, ESPN’s Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler published an extensive report about Hurts and his “rigid preferences” causing discord within the Eagles locker room. Around the same time, The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane added his own reporting to the mix.

“A lot of the people in that building feel like [quarterback Jalen Hurts] is not listening,” McLane said on his “unCovering the Birds” podcast, adding, “They feel that the only way to get through to Jalen - and, from what I understand, this is why A.J. Brown tweeted what he tweeted in October - the only way to get to him is through the media or social media or through those of us who report on the team. That’s what’s happening now.”

McLane also published a separate Inquirer report revealing how Hurts is viewed inside the Eagles’ building as he enters what is essentially a contract year.

“He knows this is the last year of his guaranteed money," an anonymous team source told McLane. “He knows the cat's out on some of his baggage. You got to be able to produce. You can’t be near the bottom of the league in passing two years in a row with the amount of talent that we have. It's not acceptable. And it's everybody saying it - from [owner] Jeffrey [Lurie] on down. Everybody is on the same page.”

Yikes.

As for Parsons, the three-time All-Pro pass rusher terrorized Hurts and the Eagles’ offense twice a year for four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before the Cowboys traded Parsons to the Green Bay Packers last August.
