NFL Insider Gives Update on Bo Nix Injury Front Ahead of Training Camp
The Denver Broncos won the AFC West and finished with the No. 1 seed in the AFC with Super Bowl hopes this past season.
Unfortunately, star quarterback Bo Nix suffered a season-ending injury in the Divisional Round win against the Buffalo Bills, and Jarrett Stidham started for the Broncos in the AFC title game against the New England Patriots.
The Patriots ended up winning the AFC title, although they lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl; the Broncos were so close to making another Super Bowl appearance.
A healthy Nix might have been the difference for Denver, although we will never know.
Nonetheless, the future is bright for the Broncos, and the hope is that Nix will be 100% by the time the 2026 season begins as they chase another AFC West title despite playing in one of the best divisions in the NFL.
On Wednesday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport gave an update on Nix's injury front during a segment of "The Pat McAfee Show."
"Bo Nix had a follow-up cleanup procedure after a fractured ankle and he's still expected to be ready for the season..

I would expect Bo Nix to be ready for training camp or very close to training camp" ~ @RapSheet#PMSLivepic.twitter.com/qcg75XFaNc
Rapoport also reported that on Tuesday night, and all signs point to Nix being ready for the season, although Rapoport says not to expect him during OTAs or minicamp.
"For #Broncos QB Bo Nix, having a follow-up cleanup procedure after a fractured ankle is not rare or unexpected and he's still expected to be ready for the season. That said, don't be surprised if the team takes it very easy with him this spring," Rapoport wrote on X.
Can Broncos Win AFC West Again?
Sean Payton continues to show why he's one of the best coaches in the NFL, and young rising candidate Davis Webb is the new OC after receiving head coach interest this past cycle.
The Broncos also acquired Jaylen Waddle in a massive trade with the Miami Dolphins, so there is a lot to like about this Denver team entering 2026.
The Kansas City Chiefs have questions with the defense (although they addressed that in the draft) and the recovery of Patrick Mahomes after he suffered a torn ACL, but they should still be a tough team to beat.
The Los Angeles Chargers made the playoffs two years in a row and added pieces this offseason, so the path to another Broncos title is not going to be easy by any means.
There is a chance for Denver, but it will take a healthy Bo Nix for the Broncos to have any hopes of another AFC West crown.
