Stephanie White Reveals Injury Timeline for Indiana Fever Rookie After Medical Update

Indiana Fever rookie Justine Pissott was out of action again on Saturday night. The 6-foot-4 guard-forward missed a second straight game due to a lower leg injury.

Pissott, the 25th overall pick of the 2026 WNBA Draft, sat out Thursday's loss to the Dallas Wings. She was sidelined again for Saturday's preseason finale against the Nigerian Women's National Team.

Fever head coach Stephanie White spoke to reporters ahead of Saturday's matchup. According to the former WNBA Coach of the Year, Pissott consulted with doctors this past week, per Chloe Peterson of the Indianapolis Star.

The good news is that based on the latest medical update, the Fever are optimistic about Pissott getting back on the court for practice "in a week or so." White added that Pissott will continue meeting with doctors to determine the best path forward.

Pissott made her debut for the Fever on April 25. She was in action for Indiana's preseason opener against the New York Liberty. The Fever secured a 109-91 road win at Barclays Center.

Pissott came off the bench for eight points on 2-of-4 shooting, along with one rebound, four assists and two triples in just 10 minutes of action.

Pissott caught the Fever's attention ahead of the WNBA draft. This is after she had an impressive senior year with the Vanderbilt Commodores. Pissott played 34 games, averaging 11.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 29.5 minutes per contest. She was a major threat from deep, knocking down 2.8 triples per game on a 42.2% clip.

Pissott is no star, but she can potentially carve out a role in Coach White's rotation this coming season. However, the rookie must overcome her leg injury before she can fight for her place in the lineup.

The Fever open their regular season on May 9 at home against the Wings.
