Luis Suarez Makes Major Admission On Inter Miami's MLS Struggles

Following a difficult stretch of results, Luis Suarez has spoken out about the challenges Inter Miami is facing in the 2026 MLS season.

Despite the massive expectations surrounding the club, the veteran striker admitted that the team is still struggling to adapt to life without key veteran players.

The pressure on the squad has grown following their recent exit from the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup. While the tournament was a major goal for the club, the elimination highlighted ongoing issues with consistency and team chemistry.

While Lionel Messi has remained the central figure for the team, his individual moments haven't been enough to fix the team's deeper problems. The situation was also not helped by the departure of Javier Mascherano and the entire coaching staff in April.

These struggles have also been visible at the team's new home, Nu Stadium where the team has found it surprisingly difficult to secure wins.

Miami is currently winless in all four matches played at the stadium since its opening in April 2026.

Luis Suarez Opens up on Inter Miami's Current Form

Suarez pointed to the departure of former teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba as a primary reason for these tactical hurdles.

"There are a lot of different tactical and technical nuances," he said. "Sadly, they're not here anymore. They are two very significant losses. Our buildout was through Busi, through Jordi, with Jordi's runs (up the left flank), and we miss them a lot."

The veteran striker also noted that while the team was aware of these changes ahead of time, the transition has been difficult for the rest of the team.

"But we had known for months that they weren't going to be here, and we had to try to play differently. Some games we have good results, others we have not. We must work hard and keep improving because we have a lot of young players who still have a lot to learn."
