UFC 328 Bonuses: co-main takes Fight of the Night
UFC 328 took place on Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and featured a 13-bout fight card headlined by two world title bouts. Seven of the bouts ended in finishes and two of them earned an extra $100,000 bonus.
UFC CEO Dana White announced the UFC 328 performance-based bonuses during the event's post-fight press conference. Fight of the Night honors went to the flyweight championship co-main event between titleholder Joshua Van and challenger Tatsuro Taira.
Veteran Jim Miller received a Performance of the Night bonus for his first round submission win over Jared Gordon on the preliminary card. The 42 year-old also inked a new five-fight contract with the fight promotion following the win.
The final Performance of the Night bonus went to Yaroslav Amosov for his second-round submission win over Joel Alvarez on the preliminary fight card. The arm-triangle choke finish banked him an $100,000 check.
17,783 spectators attended the event resulting in $7.5 million in record-setting gate receipts.
