Aaron Donald Reveals Stance on NFL Comeback Following Myles Garrett Trade

The Los Angeles Rams made the biggest move of the offseason on Monday, acquiring edge rusher Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. Los Angeles gave up Jared Verse and three premium draft picks to land the player who just set the NFL single-season sack record with 23.

The Rams went from contender to heavy Super Bowl favorite overnight and the rest of the league is still processing it. But the trade didn't just shake up the league standings. It stirred something else entirely.

Aaron Donald Responds to Cryptic NFL Comeback Rumors

Aaron Donald retired after the 2023 season as one of the most dominant defensive tackles the game has ever seen. Ten Pro Bowls, three Defensive Player of the Year awards and a career that produced 111 sacks and 543 tackles across 154 games. He walked away at 35 and the football world accepted it, even if it didn't want to.

Then the Myles Garrett trade happened and Donald's name started circulating again.

ESPN's Pat McAfee said Donald told him the trade "for sure got me thinking," and that was enough to get people talking.

On May 28, Donald posted a workout video on Instagram that did nothing to cool things down. Fans caught the soundtrack immediately, a song called "ain't done" by Blxst. The caption kept it short.

"Quick work session," Donald wrote, adding a flexed bicep emoji along with the hashtags "#ad99" and "#ready."

That combination of the song choice, the caption and the timing had fans reading into every detail. Donald looked sharp in the clip and didn't appear far removed from playing shape, which only added to the conversation.

The idea of Donald lining up alongside Garrett in Los Angeles is the kind of thing that gets defensive coordinators excited and offensive linemen anxious. Two generational pass rushers on the same front would be unlike anything the league has seen in years.

Nothing is confirmed and Donald hasn't made any formal announcement about a return. But between the Garrett trade, the workout and that song playing in the background, he's clearly left the door open. The Rams and their fans will be watching closely.
