Browns Owners Jimmy, Dee Haslam Announce $130 Million Donation

Dee and Jimmy Haslam, the owners of the Cleveland Browns, have made a hefty investment just months before the start of the 2026 NFL season.

It was announced Thursday that Dee and Jimmy Haslam have donated $130 million to the University of Tennessee in an effort to "bolster student success and faculty recruitment." This investment is also expected to improve Tennessee's Haslam College of Business.

"We are honored to make this investment in UT and the Haslam College of Business," said Dee and Jimmy Haslam in a press release. "The university is experiencing extraordinary momentum, and we are proud to help elevate its national reputation, attract world-class faculty and support the next generation of leaders - all while keeping the best and brightest here in Tennessee."

Bill Lee, the 50th Governor of Tennessee, thanked the Haslam family for their generosity.

"This landmark gift from Dee and Jimmy Haslam demonstrates a deep commitment to ensuring the next generation of Tennesseans has the opportunity to reach their full potential," Gov. Lee said "By expanding opportunity for talented students, supporting world-class faculty and strengthening Tennessee's workforce pipeline, this investment will help ensure that the Volunteer State remains a place where innovation, opportunity and service thrive. Maria and I are grateful for the Haslams' leadership, generosity and continued commitment to Tennessee's future."

How will this investment support Tennessee students?

According to Tennessee's press release, $100 million from their latest investment will go directly to the Haslam College of Business. The other $30 million will be used to aid the rise in research, innovation and discovery.

"This investment in students and faculty will benefit UT and the entire state of Tennessee by helping to ensure that students taught by the best faculty are joining the state's workforce," the university said.

Overall, the Haslams have donated over $195 million to the University of Tennessee. Clearly, they see the value in investing in the future of America.
