U.S. Representative 'Worried' For Jalen Brunson's Wife Ahead Of Knicks Parade
A member of the United States House of Representatives is apparently worried for Jalen Brunson's wife, Ali.
Brunson led the New York Knicks to their first title since 1973, averaging 32.6 points per game during the NBA Finals. His Game 5 performance will be remembered by New Yorkers forever, as the Finals MVP dropped 45 points on Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
With the Finals officially in the rearview mirror, the Knicks are set to have their championship parade this Thursday. The party will start near Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan and conclude at City Hall.
"It will be the first ticker-tape parade in Knicks history, where New Yorkers will be able to celebrate a moment that has feels like we've waited an entire lifetime for because when it comes to people my age and a little bit older, we have," New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said. "There have been so many heartbreaks, so many near misses, so many years, every year where we've told ourselves it's the year and for it to actually happen now, there's nothing more we can ask for as New Yorkers."
Claudia Tenney, who serves the U.S. representative for New York's 24th congressional district, said on FOX Business that she's genuinely worried for Brunson's wife because of her background.
"I'm worried about the violence," Tenney said. "Look at Jalen Brunson. What an amazing American citizen. His wife is Jewish. She's a physical therapist. Are we gonna see more antisemitism at this parade? I hope not."
Going strong for over a decade.
Ali and Jalen met at Adlai E. Stevenson High School and started dating in 2013. One decade later, they got married at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago.
"She's always been by my side and I'm lucky to have her," Brunson said. "I'm excited to celebrate this special milestone with all of our closest friends and family, who have been so supportive over the many years of our relationship."
There's no question the Brunson family will receive a warm welcome at the championship parade this Thursday.
