Mike Vrabel Called Out For Questionable Move During Public Appearance With Wife
New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel made a rare public appearance this Friday with his wife, Jen.
It's been a rough offseason for Vrabel to say the least. The reigning Coach of the Year made headlines on April 7 when Page Six released photos of him spending time at an Arizona hotel with NFL reporter Dianna Russini. That caused quite an uproar since they're both married to different people. To make matters worse, TMZ later shared photos of Russini and Vrabel that dates back to the 2021 season.
According to Page Six, Mike and Jen flew to Park City, Utah for an "emergency 24-hour" marriage meeting. He needed to briefly step away from the Patriots during the NFL Draft to take care of his personal situation.
"As I said the other day, I promised my family, this organization and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counseling, starting this weekend," Vrabel said. "This is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counseling them."
While it's unclear if everything has been sorted out, Jen and Mike were out in New York City this Friday to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden.
The New York Post shared footage of Vrabel and his wife of nearly three decades entering a black SUV. Apparently, people had an issue with the veteran coach stepping into the vehicle before his wife.
"He doesn't put his wife in the car first?" one person asked.
"Real gentleman helping his wife into the car first, oh wait, he didn't," a second person commented.
"Vrabel, what are you doing? Open the car door for your wife & escort her inside the vehicle," another person wrote. "Not a good look when all eyes are on you."
Vrabel has the Patriots' full support.
Despite all the drama surrounding Vrabel this offseason, Patriots stars Drake Maye and Christian Gonzalez have made it clear they'll continue to support him.
"We're here for coach, we love coach," Maye told reporters. "We know he's dealing with some stuff off the field and out of the coaching world but we're here for him and I know he's gonna come back."
Barring another bombshell report, Vrabel should be on the sidelines this fall for New England.
The Patriots will begin their 2026 season on Sept. 9 against the Seattle Seahawks.
