Bohn wins 35th PBA Tour title
According to the PBA media relations, Parker Bohn III defeated England’s Paul Moor 210-206 to win the PBA Cheetah Championship on Sunday at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno and moved into sole possession of fifth place on the PBA’s all-time PBA Tour titles list. Bohn, a 52-year-old left-hander, survived a 6-7 split in the ninth frame and threw a strike on his first ball in the 10th after Moor failed to throw a third consecutive strike on his first shot in his 10th frame to give Bohn a chance. Bohn trails Walter Ray Williams Jr., who has (47 titles), the late Earl Anthony (43), Norm Duke (38), and Pete Weber (37). There were three lefties at the Stadium rolling; Moor was the only right-hander. The win was good for $20,000 for Bohn and $10,000 for Moor. Note: Modesto’s Wayne Garber rolled against Bohn in the semifinals and lost 3-0. If he had beaten Bohn, he would have been part of the televised coverage on Sunday.
