El Capitan hosts free youth baseball clinic Saturday
The El Capitan High School baseball program will host a youth baseball clinic Saturday at the high school.
The free clinic is for kids ages 7-13 and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The El Capitan coaches and varsity players will teach basic techniques and conduct drills to improve fundamental skills in all areas of the sport.
Participants are asked to bring their own glove, hat, shoes or cleats, long pants (for sliding) and bat. Helmet is optional.
Check-in time is 9 a.m. and parents are welcome to attend.
Baseball tryout for Central Valley Sun Devils
The Central Valley Sun Devils will hold a tryout for an 18U elite-level travel team on May 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at McSwain School. The tryout is open to all high school players, but will be limited to the first 50.

The Sun Devils are looking for elite players who can participate in summer tournaments and showcase tournaments that draw college coaches and pro baseball scouts like the Under Armour South West Classic at the University of La Verne.
