Merced College women’s basketball opens season by knocking off top-ranked team

The Merced College women’s basketball team opened the season with a pair of wins to start the Delta College Tournament.

The Blue Devils started with a 59-54 win over Northern California’s No. 1 ranked Delta on Friday night. Merced College then Feather River College 67-59 on Saturday.

Shea Williams-Glasglow led the Blue Devils with 15 points against Feather River. Jordan Pierce made three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points. Merced College made nine 3-pointers in the game.

Williams-Glasglow also scored 21 points in the upset of Delta College.
