Merced College football bounces back from tough loss with dominant win at Yuba
The Merced College football team rebounded after a tough loss last week to Feather River College with a 42-10 road win over Yuba College on Saturday.
The win comes one week after the Blue Devils (3-2) squandered a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter and suffered a 31-30 loss to Feather River College.
Blue Devils quarterback Ryan Kraft connected on a pair of 51-yard touchdown passes to Demoundre Evans and Dasani Tate in the first half as MC built a 26-6 lead by halftime.
Alfonso Gary delivered a pick-six, returning an interception 37 yards in the second quarter.
Merced College quarterback Jacob Bettencourt added a 7-yard touchdown pass to Ezra Morales to round out the first-half scoring.
The Blue Devils offense put together a balanced attack, passing for 228 yards and rushing for 194 yards.
Running back Justin Incaprera led Merced College on the ground with 81 yards rushing and a touchdown on 14 carries. Romello Presley also found the end zone on the ground for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils defense held Yuba to just three of 15 conversions on third down and 205 yards of total offense.
The Blue Devils will open up American Golden Coast Conference play on Saturday at home against Foothill.
