Los Banos remains undefeated with big night from Caballero. GV, Atwater blanked.

Anthony Cabellero had a big night as the Los Banos High football team opened up Western Athletic Conference play with a 48-20 win over Ceres on the road.

Caballero accounted for 418 yards of total offense and five touchdowns. The Tigers quarterback completed 12 of 17 passes for 288 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 130 yards and one score to help Los Banos improve to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the WAC.

Los Banos scored the final 14 points of the first half to tkae a 28-14 lead into intermission. Caballero scored on a 9-yard run and then just before the half hooked up with Daniel Guerrero for a 27-yard touchdown pass. Guerrero caught three passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, scoring on a 75-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.

Caballero also connected on touchdown throws of 73 yards to Landon Ramos and a 10-yard touchdown to Paulie Calderon that extended the Tigers’ lead to 35-14.

Los Banos running back Antonio Lopez finished with 75 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

Leading the Los Banos defense was sophomore linebacker Adrian Atangan, who was making his Tigers debut after transferring from Central Catholic. Atangan finished with 16 tackles.

Los Banos hosts defending WAC champions Central Valley on Friday.

Patterson 55, Pacheco 19 in Los Banos – The Tigers dominated from start to finish as they improved to 5-1 overall. Patterson jumped out to a 41-6 lead at the half as the Panthers (2-4) could manage only two Rodolfo Rivera field goals in the first half.

The Panthers scored their two touchdowns late in the game as Jacob Levario and Jerry Winters scored touchdowns.

Central Valley 28, Livingston 19 in Livingston – Edwards Mendoza threw two touchdowns for the Wolves (2-4, 0-1 WAC), connecting with Christian Maldonado for a 70-yard touchdown in the third quarter and a 28-yard score to Audel Lopez in the fourth quarter that pulled Livingston within 21-19 with 8:49 left.

Estevan Barragan put the game away with a 10-yard touchdown run that gave the Hawks (4-2, 1-0) a 28-19 lead with 6:19 left in the game. Barragan and Nasson Sanchez both had two touchdowns on the night for Central Valley.

Pitman 39, Atwater 0 in Atwater – The Pride (3-3, 2-0 Central California Conference) delivered head coach Tom Tyler his 100th career win with a shutout over the Falcons (1-5, 0-2).

Turlock 38, Golden Valley 0 in Turlock – Jonah Kosakiewicz threw a pair of touchdowns to Jordan Porter and added a 9-yard touchdown run as the Bulldogs improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the CCC. Golden Valley dropped to 0-7.

Waterford 30, Delhi 29 in Waterford – The Wildcats scored two touchdowns in a 44-second stretch of the fourth quarter to defeat the Hawks (2-4, 0-3 Southern League). Michael Vivo scored on a touchdown run and Waterford converted on the two-point conversion to cut Hawks’ lead to 29-22.

Waterford then recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and Vivo found Edmond Adams for a 72-yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion was good to give the Wildcats a 30-29 lead with 4:04 left in the game.

Delhi led 29-14 with 7 minutes left in the game.

Orestimba 52, Le Grand 6 in Newman – Tymon Bolden scored three touchdowns on the ground and Jacob Bettencourt tossed three touchdowns as the Warriors improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the SL.

Beto Marquez returned at quarterback for Le Grand (1-5, 0-3) after missing the last five games with an injured shoulder. Marquez found Michael Dinkins for a 72-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter for the Bulldogs’ lone touchdown.

Stone Ridge Christian 43, Sierra Ridge/ROP 0 in San Andreas – Cole Houeling and Shane Casillas each scored a pair of touchdowns to help the Knights improve to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Central California Athletic Alliance. Houeling scored on a 35-yard run and a 50-yard reception.

Casillas carried the ball eight times for 63 yards and two touchdowns.

It was the second straight shutout for SRC. Only eight more to go to tie the school and state record.

We scored 43 points with only running 25 offensive plays. Shane 8 for 63 2tds. Cole Houeling 1 35 yard rushing td, 1- 50 yard receiving td.

Mendota 21, Dos Palos 16 in Mendota – The Aztecs erased a 10-0 deficit at the half to hand the Broncos (1-5, 0-1 West Sierra League) their fifth consecutive loss.
