Buhach Colony water polo star named an All-American
Buhach Colony’s Erin McBride was selected as an All-American by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association.
McBride was selected as a fourth-team All-American.
“I’m really proud to represent Buhach Colony as an All-American,” McBride said. “I’d also like to thank my coaches. I want my coaches AJ (Aaron Abril) and Justin (Tanzillo) to know I owe them everything. They push me so much. I couldn’t have done anything without them.”
McBride helped lead the Thunder to their first even Central California Conference championship last fall. Buhach Colony shared the CCC title with El Capitan.
McBride was named the CCC’s Offensive Player of the Year and named to the all-Sac-Joaquin Section team.
McBride was also named the Merced Sun-Star Girls Swimmer of the Year this past spring after winning conference championships in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events.
“I’m really surprised that this all even happened,” McBride said.
