Hilmar’s Olson reaches finals in three events at Division IV-V section meet

Thursday will be a busy day for Dani Olson. The Hilmar High School senior qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV-V finals in three events at Cal State Stanislaus.

Olson qualified second in the 100- (15.8 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (46.95) and the 200 dash (26.34) at Tuesday’s trials.

The top five finishers in each event qualify for next week’s Masters meet at Elk Grove High School.

Some area athletes clinched Masters berths on Tuesday.

Livingston junior Tina Lao won the shot put with a put of 38 feet, 3 inches. Wolves senior Diego Solis won the discus with a throw of 156-7.

El Capitan freshman Dominique Navarette finished third in the discus at 142-10.

Los Banos senior Ricky Hall finished second in the high jump, clearing 6-2.

Hilmar’s Hudson Harris will compete Thursday in the 300 hurdles final after turning in the third-fastest time Tuesday at 41.38.

Thursday’s action begins with field events at 3 p.m.
