Sun-Star’s Best Prep Football: Merced’s Jack Collins wins Prep of the Week poll
Merced High receiver Jack Collins came up with some big plays in Merced’s win over Golden Valley last week. Collins caught four passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns to help the Bears extend their winning streak to 16 consecutive games against the Cougars.
The Merced High senior won the Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week Football Poll.
Collins earned the most votes for the Merced Sun-Star’s Prep Football Player of the Week. The senior garnered 82,518 votes for 60% of the 137,295 total votes.
Pacheco High’s Jedidiah Delatorre finished second with 46,075 votes.
