Sun-Star’s Best: Atwater’s Amelie Valdez wins Prep of the Week voting
Atwater High softball pitcher Amelie Valdez won this week’s Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week fan vote.
Valdez won this week’s poll with over 55% of the total vote with 8,130 votes. Valdez tied a career high with 16 strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Le Grand last week.
There were 14,814 total votes.
Buhach Colony’s Cooper Lanz finished second in voting with 39% of the votes, which resulted in 5,751 votes.
