Sun-Star’s Best: El Capitan’s Bakken wins Prep of the Week voting
El Capitan High School pitcher Andrew Bakken won this week’s Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week fan vote.
Bakken won this week’s poll with over 47% of the total vote with 6,970 votes.
Bakken threw a two-hit shutout and struck out nine batters in a win over Atwater that helped the Gauchos clinch a share of the Central California Conference championship.
There were 14,686 total votes.
Merced softball player Hannah Isakow finished second with 3,302 votes.
