The 12th Annual Merced County All-Star Game, which features high school baseball players from across the county, will be played on Saturday at Merced College.

The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Players who received all-league honors from Merced County are invited to play.

The North will feature high school players from Atwater, Buhach Colony, Los Banos, Hilmar, Pacheco, Gustine, Livingston and Delhi high schools. The North team will be coached by Buhach Colony coach Joe Medeiros.

The South will be composed of players from Merced, Golden Valley, El Capitan, Le Grand, Dos Palos, Mariposa, Stone Ridge Christian and Sonora. The South will be coached by Sonora’s Chet Winham.

The North leads the all-time series 8-3, including a 13-9 win in last year’s game.

The North squad will feature six Buhach Colony players in Cooper Lanz, Logan Baptista, Gavon Ipock, Landon Laplante, Spencer Lanz and Kadyn Fillebrown.

The Thunder shared the Central California Conference championship with Atwater and El Capitan and reached the semifinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs.

“During the playoffs I kept pushing we need to find a way to get one more practice, one more game together,” Medeiros said. “We’ve got six guys playing in this game, so this an opportunity for us to play one more game together. It’s pretty special, especially with this group. We had a great year.”

The North team will also feature five Livingston players in AJ Orozco, Christian Alvarez, Rocklin Baptista, Andy Aguilar and Isaac Macias, who all helped the Wolves win a share of the Trans-Valley League championship.

The South team will be well represented by El Capitan with four Guachos in Mitchell Hunter, Andrew Bakken, Aiden Kuhls and Carson Viers. Bakken was named the CCC PItcher of the Year.

The South will also have five Dos Palos players in Peyton Van Worth, Isac Mandujano, Aaron Jones, Derek Von Allman and Kanoa Ruiz that helped lead the Broncos to a 22-7 record.
