Sun-Star’s Best: El Capitan’s Manzo wins Player of the Week poll for Week 1
El Capitan High School senior Ceaser Manzo started the season with an impressive performance in the Gauchos’ first game against Delhi last week.
Manzo passed for 263 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 58 yards rushing and two more scores.
Manzo won the Merced Sun-Star fans’ vote for High School Football Player of the Week for Week 1.
Manzo received 46% of the votes for a total of 5,524 votes.
There were 12,024 total votes.
Los Banos quarterback David Herrera finished second with 39% of the votes for a total of 4,732 votes.
