Roundup: Buhach Colony star scores 6 touchdowns as Thunder defeat Enochs in double-OT
Jaxson Percoats rushed for over 200 yards and six touchdowns to help lead Buhach Colony High School to a 54-51 double-overtime victory over Enochs on Friday night at Dave Honey Stadium.
“He played his heart out,” said Buhach Colony coach Jerry Dietz, whose team improved to 2-1. “What I love is he always praises his team. He never quits. He just keeps pushing everyone along.”
The Thunder overcame to a two-score deficit in the second half.
Enochs (1-2) kicked a field goal late to second the game into overtime.
After the Eagles scored in the first overtime, Percoats tied the game with his sixth rushing touchdown.
Buhach Colony kicker Evan Ochoa then kicked a 24-yard field goal in the second overtime and the Thunder defense stopped the Eagles on their second overtime possession to preserve the victory.
Kailin Frade returned a kickoff for a touchdown for Buhach Colony in the first half.
Gregori 21, Atwater 0 — The Falcons (1-2) dropped their second consecutive game as the Jaguars recorded a shutout.
Modesto Christian 15, El Capitan 14 (OT) — The Gauchos (0-3) came close to snapping their 14-game losing streak.
Sonora 28, Hilmar 20 — The Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak to the Yellowjackets. Luis Vargas scored two touchdowns for Hilmar (1-2).
Le Grand 50, Tranquillity 0 — Reyes Diaz caught two touchdowns and the Bulldogs defense scored three times to help Le Grand improve to 3-0.
Diaz hauled in a 55-yard touchdown pass from Carlos Castaneda on a trick play to start the scoring. Diaz later caught a 39-yard touchdown from Julian Bucio. It was one of two touchdown passes on the night for Bucio, who also connected with Castandeda on a scoring strike.
Diaz finished with 139 yards receiving on three catches.
Ronnie Ramirez returned an interception 60 yards for a score and Nathan Garcia returned a fumble 10 yards for a touchdown.
Livingston 41, Amador 6 — Carlos Baez rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries to lead the Wolves (1-2) to a win. Livingston rushed for 461 yards as a team.
Sebastian Casanova returned an interception for a touchdown for the Wolves in the first quarter.
Orestimba 34, Los Banos 26 — Los Banos quarterback David Herrera connected with receiver Jamison Braniff for three touchdown passes but it wasn’t enough as Orestimba came back in the fourth quarter to defeat the Tigers.
Pacheco 29, Seaside 26 — Abel Bravo scored three touchdowns as the Panthers picked up their first win of the season.
Daniel Scott added a 15-yard touchdown run for Pacheco’s other score.
Liberty 28, Dos Palos 14 — The Hawks outscored the Broncos 21-7 in the second half to hand Dos Palos (0-3) its third consecutive loss.
Broncos quarterback Peyton Van Worth ran a touchdown in and threw a scoring strike of 16 yards to Hernan Hernandez.
Stone Ridge Christian 62, Foresthill 0 — Knights quarterback Noah Lund threw three touchdown passes, including two to tight end Max Friedman as Stone Ridge Christian improved to 3-0.
Lund and Friedman both had interceptions on defense.
