Sun-Star’s Best: Stone Ridge Christian’s Esquivez wins Player of the Week poll for Week 7
Stone Ridge Christian High School senior running back Hector Esquivez ran wild in the Knights’ 38-6 victory over Yganico Valley.
Esquivez rushed for 213 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries to help Stone Ridge Christian improve to 5-2 this season.
Esquivez won the Merced Sun-Star fans’ vote for High School Football Player of the Week for Week 7.
Esquivez received 53% of the votes for a total of 5,473 votes.
There were 10,335 total votes.
Hilmar High receiver Derek Taylor finished second with 2,626 votes.
