Buhach Colony girls water polo advance to NorCal playoffs falling in section championship

The Buhach Colony High School girls water polo team will travel to San Jose on Tuesday to open the CIF NorCal Regional Division III playoffs.

The game is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The Thunder (23-7) advanced to the NorCal playoffs after finishing as the runner-up in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs.

Buhach Colony fell to No. 1 seed Woodcreek 14-5 on Saturday in Roseville. The Timberwolves are the No. 1 seed in the NorCal Division III playoffs.

The Thunder were outshot in the game 24 to 16.

Woodcreek jumped out to an 8-2 lead at the half and never looked back.

Kyley Abril led the Thunder with three goals and Macie Drum added a goal and two steals. Buhach Colony goalie Abigail Perez finished with 10 saves.
