Roundup: Atwater girls basketball improves CCC winning streak to 29 consecutive victories

The Atwater High School girls basketball extended their Central California Conference winning streak to 29 consecutive victories with a 54-22 win over Golden Valley on Tuesday night.

The Falcons improved to 7-0 in the CCC and 12-11 overall.

Sophomore Jolie Hart led the way with 18 points, including four 3-pointers. Hart drained six 3-pointers in a 24-point performance during the Falcons’ 55-50 overtime win at Patterson on Monday night.

Andrea Sandoval added 11 points for Atwater.

Amyra Navarrette led the Cougars with 11 points.

El Capitan 42, Buhach Colony 40 — The Gauchos kept pace with the Falcons with a win over the Thunder. El Capitan improved to 6-1 in the CCC and 17-5 overall.

Shantelle Magana paced the Gauchos with 15 points. Mya Farr added 12 points, four rebounds and three steals.

Boys Basketball

Stone Ridge Christian 67, Millennium 38 — The Knights picked up their 10th win in their last 11 games with a win over the Falcons.

Daijon O’Neil led Stone Ridge Christian with 22 points. Kassius Salazar added 12 points and Brock Richards scored 11.

The Knights improved to 16-7 overall and 4-1 in the Central California Athletic Alliance.
