Stone Ridge Christian High softball cruises to NorCal Regional playoff victory

The Stone Ridge Christian High School softball team opened the Northern California Regional Division V playoffs with an 8-2 victory over KIPP King on Tuesday afternoon.

It was the Knights’ first NorCal Regional playoff victory in school history.

Cali Cole delivered another strong outing in the circle, going the distance and striking out 10 hitters. Cole gave up just two runs on four hits.

Cole improved to 16-2 this season with a 0.75 ERA. The junior right-hander has struck out 146 batters in 103 innings pitched.

Alyssa Villa led the Knights offense with two hits including a double and four RBIs. Amy Villa also added two hits including a triple and an RBI. Breann Louters chipped in with a double and two RBIs.

The No. 3-seeded Knights finished with seven hits and improved to 17-2 this season.

In Thursday’s semifinals, Stone Ridge Christian lost 11-1 at No. 2 North Salinas.
