Here’s who the fans picked as the Merced-area football preseason Player of the Year
Senior Reyes Diaz should be a big part of the Le Grand High School football team this season.
The fourth-year starter hauled in 39 catches last year as a tight end and receiver for the Bulldogs for 637 yards and eight touchdowns.
Fans are expecting even more this year as Diaz was selected as the Merced Sun-Star preseason player of the year.
Diaz racked up 63% of the 8,918 votes this week for a total of 5,646 votes.
Hilmar quarterback Caden Bailey finished second with 2,244 votes.
