Sun-Star’s Best Prep Football: El Capitan’s Diego Ultreras wins Prep of the Week poll
The El Capitan High School football team started the season with a win for the first time in school history last week with a 12-7 victory over Delhi.
Helping lead the way was junior receiver Diego Ultreras, who caught six passes for 111 yards.
Ultreras won the Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week Football Poll.
This week’s poll was a close battle between El Capitan and Merced high school fans.
Ulteras earned the most votes for the Merced Sun-Star’s Prep Football Player of the Week. The junior garnered 58,360 votes for 50% of the 117,063 total votes.
Merced running back Adarias Morales-Saetern finished second with 53,824 votes.
