Sun-Star’s Best Prep Football: Stone Ridge Christian’s Wood wins Prep of the Week poll
Stone Ridge Christian High School senior Sawyer Wood had a terrific performance against Amador last week.
The Knights senior caught six passes for 153 yards and a touchdown. Wood also had an interception on defense.
Wood won the Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week Football Poll.
Wood earned the most votes for the Merced Sun-Star’s Prep Football Player of the Week. Wood earned 2,625 votes, which accounted for 60% of the total votes of 4,392.
Golden Valley quarterback Austin Mello finished second with 21% of the votes.
