Sun-Star’s Best Prep Football: El Captian’s Diego Ultreras wins Prep of the Week poll
El Capitan High senior Diego Ultreras helped the Gauchos earn a 34-0 victory over Beyer to improve to 2-1 this season.
Ultreras made an impact on both sides of the ball, intercepting three passing on defenses and adding a rushing touchdown on offense.
Ultreras won the Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week Football Poll.
Ultreras earned the most votes for the Merced Sun-Star’s Prep Football Player of the Week. Ultreras garnered 3,592 votes, which accounted for 52% of the 6,972 total votes.
Merced High running back Adarius Morales-Seatern finished second with 2,371 votes.
