Sun-Star’s Best Prep Football: Gustine High’s Austin Etheridge wins Prep of the Week poll
Gustine High senior linebacker Austin Etheridge had a busy night in leading the Reds to a 42-27 victory over Yosemite.
Etheridge was all over the field, recording 13 tackles to go along with an interception for a touchdown and a fumble recovery.
Etheridge won the Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week Football Poll.
Etheridge earned the most votes for the Merced Sun-Star’s Prep Football Player of the Week. Etheridge garnered 10,381 votes, which accounted for 55% of the 18,911 total votes.
Mariposa High’s Rusty Bull finished second with 7,788 votes. Bull recorded 10 tackles, including three tackles-for-loss in a Grizzlies’ win over Sierra.
