Sun-Star’s Best Prep Football: Delhi’s Diego Cardenas wins Prep of the Week poll
Delhi High quarterback Diego Cardenas delivered two touchdowns to help propel the Hawks to a 27-20 victory over Denair.
Cardenas rushed for 73 yards and also recorded a sack and a fumble on defense for the big win.
Cardenas won the Merced Sun-Star Prep of the Week Football Poll.
Cardenas earned the most votes for the Merced Sun-Star’s Prep Football Player of the Week. The Hawks senior racked up 15,049 votes, which accounted for 84% of the total 18,009 votes.
Le Grand High receiver Miguel Moreno finished second with 2,378 votes.
